Visiting Epic Waters for Spring Break? These 7 tips will help you make it an epic experience.

If you’re looking for fun things to do for spring break, Grand Prairie has you covered with exciting attractions, unique dining, live entertainment and events. At the heart of the Spring Break action is EpicCentral, a 172-acre entertainment district where visitors can enjoy adventure in all flavors, including waterfront dining, scenic walking trails, hotels, and a nightly Vegas-styled water and light show.

A signature attraction at EpicCentral is Epic Waters Indoor Waterpark, the largest indoor waterpark in North Texas. This resort-styled, year-round attraction features a retractable roof, thrilling waterslides, the longest indoor lazy river in Texas, a children’s area, the FlowRider® surfing simulator and more—in short, Epic Waters is a “cruise ship on land,” with something for everyone. To add to your Spring Break fun, the waterpark is offering games and crafts, live entertainment, mermaid meet-and-greets, and other special activities happening daily. Parking is always free and the shuttle will drop you at the waterpark’s entrance.

You won’t want to miss a minute of fun, so preparation is key.  Here are our insider tips for an epic Spring Break at Epic Waters Indoor Waterpark:

1. Buy your tickets early.

To ensure a quality guest experience and as well as safety, the park limits visitor capacity. For guaranteed entry during Spring Break, purchase tickets in advance at epicwatersgp.com. Buying early saves time and ensures you won’t be put on a wait list.

2. First Time Visitor? Get to know the park.

Epic Waters offers 12 waterslides featuring thrills from mild to wild. If you're visiting for the first time, take a moment to review the waterpark website or socials to learn more about each slide, as well as height requirements for children and a list of prohibited and recommended items.

Some of our favorite attractions include:

Locura – A seven-story freefall waterslide with an adrenaline-packed 40-foot drop

FlowRider® – A surf simulator for bodyboarding and stand-up surfing

Rio Grand Lazy River – A fun-for-all ages scenic float through the park with the excitement of period wave surges

3. Don’t forget your essentials.

When visiting Epic Waters, don’t forget to bring:

  • Sunscreen (handy when the retractable roof is open)

  • Sunglasses (ditto)

  • Extra towels

  • Swim diapers (required for babies and toddlers)

However, fear not if you forget something important—Epic Waters has a gift shop carrying a variety of essentials and fun souvenirs.

4. Plan Your Visit and Choose a Home Base

With so much to do, having a plan makes a big difference. Decide where you’ll start your day—Rascal’s Roundup is a great warm-up before hitting the bigger slides.

For families or groups, having a designated “home base” is key. While there is seating available throughout the park, the best option is reserving a private cabana, which provides shade, seating, and a dedicated space to relax. Cabana reservations book quickly, so reserve yours early.

5. Wear the right shoes and summer-friendly attire.

Since Epic Waters is a waterpark, slip-proof shoes are recommended. Those opting to watch rather than participate in the water attractions should dress comfortably in breathable, loose clothing, as the park’s climate (85 degrees year-round) is designed to be comfortable for people getting in and out of the water.

6. FlowRider®

The FlowRider® is the only attraction that you get better at the more times you ride. You can learn to boogieboard or stand up and surf on a perfect, everlasting wave! Our expert staff will teach you everything you need to know and you’ll be a pro in no time!! (A waiver must be signed in Admissions prior to guests participating. To save time, you can do this ahead of time online.) Keep in mind you must be at least 42 inches tall for boogie-boarding and 48 inches tall for stand-up surfing.

7. Make it an epic getaway.

One of the best things about visiting Epic Waters is that it’s part of the amazing EpicCentral!  Consider extending or elevating your visit by exploring everything EpicCentral has to offer, such as a stay at one of the Hilton hotels located within walking distance; dining at Vidorra Mexican Kitchen, The Finch, or Serious Eats; epic play at PlayGrand Adventures, a free inclusive-adaptive outdoor playground, or catch the show at Illuvia, a nightly Vegas-styled immersive water and light experience.
